The Alto is a front horn developed with the Le Cleac'h expansion for dynamic loudspeakers designed for this application. More than 4000 calculations were used for the high resolution curve and great care taken in fabrication to allow the practical to approach the theoretical as closely as possible. The frequency response measures +/- 3db across its frequency range of 200hz to 17Khz with the Lowther A55. It is characterised by an open and dynamic presentation very unlike most horns - marked by an absence of typical distortion. Fibreglass was chosen for resonance characteristics and tone. The result is an involving, organic presentation with superior dynamics on both a large and small scale. It features a dipole baffle which opens up the sound field, increases listening area and avoids the common rear wave distortions.
